Jules Hau set up Foundation in 2008. Jules has over ten years experience in the fashion industry, both in retail and wholesale, developing numerous brands including Paul Frank, Dickies, GSUS, Stone Island and Evisu.
In 2004 Jules decided to apply her knowledge and experience in a way that also made room for her ethics and began working with fair trade fashion pioneers People Tree. Jules brought a mainstream fashion mentality to the brand, increasing sales seven fold within two years, whilst maintaining a respect for the principles on which the brand was founded.
Jules went on to set up Inside Out agency working with hemp pioneers THTC along with a variety of other innovative brands.
Jules has been joined at Foundation by ethical fashion consultant Rosie Budhani, who will head up the PR and marketing division of Foundation, Rosie also has extensive experience in mainstream and ethical fashion and most recently ran the PR department for award winning ethical shoe brand Terra Plana.
Foundation aims to offer a comprehensive service to all clients addressing every area of business and brand development and providing access to a network of photographers, fashion designers, graphic designers, garment technicians and web designers
Every brand that works with Foundation will address issues of social and environmental sustainability whilst maintaining a strong and stylish design aesthetic and competing in the mainstream market.
Foundation intends to develop and grow the market for sustainable and ethical fashion brands ultimately aiming to create a situation where these brands are dominating the mainstream market. Foundation is keen to work with young designers whilst continuing to develop their core brands and expand their impact in the UK market.
